Chapter 6:Halley's Comet
"Some things in life happens only once or twice if you're lucky"- Mr.JustNotGoodEnough
This is a promise I made to my Bro a few years back. I promised him to write what I think about his love life. Due to some fortuitous events I wasn't able to deliver my promise. Before anything else let me talk about myself.haha I'm a bit of a hybrid nerd meaning I act like I'm a cool kid but I'm just a big geek deep inside. I'm really good but not great in a lot of subjects in school. Be it Math,Science,English except History!(Sucked with memorizing but I'm in Law School.haha)
As a preschooler me and my best-friend would always go to the library, to try to find new stuffs about mother earth. We would always ask each other "Did you Know?" Of course I always lost most of the time. He was just smarter than me but In return I did learn a lot of things. Our little escapades helped me come across the origin story of The Halley's Comet. This isn't the real story but this is my version.
Story Proper time!
One upon a time there was this kid named "Joe". He was a simple kid. A little bit chubby and a little bit spoiled for his age. He was the eldest of Ten siblings. He was the kid who was supposed to achieve greatness. He was the kid who was being tailored to be the head of his clan someday. For a kid, little Joe understood this. He knew that he has to achieve everything his parents has set for him. Little Joe was good but he was just a little kid. His entire life planned before him. No room for mistakes. No room for failure. With all the pressure in the world Little Joe had a way to ease all of the stress. He loved to watch the stars and talked to them. Every night He would gaze upon the stars. In his own small world the stars would talk to him, The stars would always tell Little Joe;
"Don't Worry! We Believe in you. You can achieve anything in this world as long as you believe in yourself"
His little talk with the stars was all the push Joe needed to fulfill all the goals his parents has set for him, It was also during this time he met a star named "Halley". This star was different from the others. She never talked to anyone but in some mysterious ways little Joe felt a connection with Halley. Little Joe have met every star in the night sky but Halley was different. In a night sky filled with a million stars all Joe could see was Halley. She wasn't the brightest nor the shiniest but for little Joe She was amazing, She was perfect. It took a while for Little Joe to muster all his confidence to talk to her. As he said:
"Hello. Halley's Comet"
He heard his mother calling him. "Joe! It's time to study!" Just before Halley could reply. Little Joe left. Little Joe was determined to accomplish all the goals his parents has set for him no matter what it cost. Little Joe never got to see Halley for a long time after that. For a little kid Joe would give up anything even his childhood just to achieve his goals. Even if without Halley the stars where always there for Joe. In his darkest moment each star was there to guide him,to protect him and to lead him to who he's supposed to be. One by one he achieved everything he has set for himself. He became a lawyer. He became a Prosecutor eventually He became a Judge. He led his Clan to greater heights. He achieve every bit of greatness He was destined to be. All the success of a thousand lifetime in his hands still he felt incomplete.
“Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with.”- Billy Dee Williams
Joe paid a steep price for his dreams. He gave up pretty much everything else just to accomplish what he had. In the end he felt he lost out on a whole lot more. As his life drifts away Joe in all indication was happy. He had the love of his family,The adoration of all the stars and the respect of the people. He was happy. He had everything any man could ever dreamed of but he was incomplete. Everyday the feeling of incompleteness grew. All the smile he had slowly faded. The Joe everybody came to love slowly changed. They felt maybe it was his age just keeping up to him but deep inside Joe knew why. Many years passed when Joe was about to retired from this practice of law He went back to the stars.
He wanted to talk to them maybe for one last time.
"Are you still here?"
He asked. He asked again. No one replied. A small part of him died that night. He knew that the stars who were there guide him,to protect him and to lead him to achieve his dreams was no longer with him. He understood that maybe those stars were guiding some other dreamer as they did to him. It was the sad truth. The truth that every person in our lives are destined to leave us someday once they fulfill their role. Joe's family had their own family to feed,to groom and to lead for the next generation they had no room for an old aging man Joe thought. The adoration of the people was no more once he left his post as a judge. He was all alone. Just when Joe was about to leave He saw someone passed by. An old acquaintance to say the least. It was Halley! After all these years. Witnessing Halley maybe for the last time was everything He could have needed. As He said with a smile:
"Hello again. Halley's Comet"
Halley answered;
"Do I know you?"
Joe didn't know what to say. He was either too cold from the weather or was just tongue-tied from the sight of Halley. After what seems to be a lifetime for Joe He introduced himself. They talked the whole night. They laughed. They even gossiped about the other stars they knew. There were moments where they just enjoyed each others company in silence. Joe for the first time in his life felt complete. He worked all his life to achieve everything but deep inside He felt this moment with Halley was worth more than everything he worked for. If only he could turn back time he thought. Hours passed as they talked when Halley realized it was time to go. As she bid farewell to her new found friend She said:
"Til Next time!"
Joe smiled and said Goodbye.

Confession: The truth in love is We only have one chance at true love twice if were lucky. We should always bear this in mind. Whenever We feel that someone could be "the one" We should stop at nothing to make them realize just how special they are and inform them of our intentions to keep them forever. #MayForever
